Tap, Rhythm, and Roll

"Tap, rhythm, and roll" refers to a style of tap dance, specifically rhythm tap (also known as jazz tap), which emphasizes percussive footwork and musicality, focusing on the sounds and rhythms created by the taps on the shoes rather than elaborate choreography.

As a dynamic treat for Opera North followers, we’re planning a special “Tap, Rhythm and Roll” program with the Measuring Time Dance Collective (MTDC) for Saturday, July 5 to keep your Independence Day Weekend toes tapping. Fireworks for the feet!

The program features MTDC Artistic Director Warren Curtis, composer David John Madore, and dancer Darin Chumbley who as part of a two man tap show, On Tap, headlined on land and around the world on Holland America Cruise Lines.
