Founded in 1982, Opera North is a nationally-recognized professional producer of opera, musical theater and concerts in the culturally-rich Upper Valley region of New Hampshire and Vermont.

Summerfest – the company’s principal season – runs June through August and features concerts in historic locations and mainstage productions featuring noted conductors, coaches, directors, and designers, along with internationally-recognized opera and musical theater singers. Opera North is also home to one of the country’s most sought-after training program for young opera professionals. Each year, nearly 1,000 singers apply for positions as Resident Artists with the company.

During the fall, winter and spring, Opera North maintains an active schedule of concerts, special events, and educational activities. In the spring and fall, Opera North’s Education & Outreach program takes live performances of opera to thousands of local elementary, middle, and high school students. In December, Opera North produces an annual holiday performance with school matinees and evening performances.

Opera North has a long history of collaboration with higher education, arts and cultural partners in the region, including Dartmouth College, the National Park Service, The Fells Estate and others. Opera North has been profiled in The New York Times, Opera News, and a broad range of print and social media outlets in the region.

Opera North is currently seeking volunteers to provide office support and patron event support for the 2019 summer season.

Inquires about volunteer opportunities should be directed to Maria Laskaris, Director of Development, at maria@operanorth.org.
