2026 NYC Spring Excursion
Join Opera North in April 2026 for our third annual “springtime in New York” trip to the Metropolitan Opera!
Opera North at the Metropolitan Opera weekend April 23-25 — led by Opera North Artistic Director Louis Burkot and General Director Evans Haile — features performances of Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin at The Metropolitan Opera, La voix humaine with Barbara Hannigan at the New York Philharmonic and All Balanchine III at New York City Ballet.
Highlights of this exclusive Opera North at The Met weekend include:
- Pre-trip discussion on the operas of Tchaikovsky with Artistic Director Louis Burkot
- Welcome Reception at the Metropolitan Opera Grand Tier bar, hosted by General Director Evans Haile
- Thursday, April 23: Grand Tier seats for 7 pm performance of Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin at the Metropolitan Opera
- Friday, April 24: luncheon and tour
- Friday, April 24: Orchestra left seats for 7:30 pm performance of La voix humaine with Barbara Hannigan at the New York Philharmonic.
- Saturday, April 25: Orchestra center seats for 2 pm performance of New York City Ballet All Balanchine III featuring Bizet's Symphony in C, and Stravinsky's Agon and Firebird.
- Post show shuttle to the Yale Club on Thursday and Friday nights
Metropolitan Opera weekend costs (exclusive of housing, travel, and all other meals) are $750 per person (this includes a $250 contribution to Opera North).
Patrons will be responsible for their own housing and transportation to and from NYC. We are pleased to offer a special group rate for two nights of deluxe accommodations at the Yale Club of New York City. Located just a few steps from Grand Central Terminal, the Yale Club is a wonderful alternative to an impersonal hotel, with guest rooms that bring you comfort, warmth, and a home away from home.
Opera North's special group rate at the Yale Club is $339 + taxes per night for a standard queen room or $369 + taxes per night for a standard king room. You can see the room types here.
